Allen Toussaint Net Worth: $3 Million

Allan Toussaint was a successful American musician, composer, and record producer born in Gert Town, Louisiana in January 1938. He grew up in a shotgun house, and his mother helped him get musical training by welcoming various musicians and feeding them meals. He started his musical career playing with a local group called the Dew Drop Set, with whom he began recording songs, including the number one hit Java in 1964.

Toussaint went on to earn a great deal of success in the 60s and 70s, recording and selling a number of albums that received acclaim and widespread sales across the country. Many of his songs, however, have since become more popular through remakes or alternate recordings by different musicians. Some of his most notable songs are Ruler of My Heart, A Certain Girl, Lipstick Traces, and Fortune Teller, which was remade by both The Who and The Rolling Stones, among others.

Despite his success, Toussaint’s net worth was estimated at $3 million at the time of his death in 2015. His legacy, however, lives on through his contributions to the music industry and the numerous artists he influenced throughout his career.
