While there, Mark got a hug from Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre and said: 'Over the past few years, Chris and I have been working with elected officials and with students, most of the time separately.

'And today, to get them in the same room, especially at the White House and watch the students get to interact and ask questions to our government officials directly is really exciting.'

The first-time voters also discussed topics important to them - including the environment, climate change, and the economy - with the Speaker of the House of Representatives Mike Johnson inside the Capitol Rotunda.

It's been six years since Evans, Kassen, and technology entrepreneur Joe Kiani created their bipartisan video-based civic engagement platform A Starting Point, which officially launched in 2020.
