The 45-year-old actress donned a hot pink bikini top with patterned bottoms for her beach outing.

The movie star paired the bright bikini look with layers of bracelets while opting to pull her tresses  back into a casual bun.

Tara enjoyed a swim with friends before heading back to shore, where she lounged around with them.

The star's beach day comes over a month after she revealed that a fifth entry to the American Pie franchise is in the works.

The movie star revealed the news in early April during an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

Tara said that a fifth installment 'might happen,' adding: 'Ok, I can't tell you when, because I  don't really know when, because we have to get all the actors and at the same time to get our schedules together.'

Adding: 'There is a script out there.. I'll put it that way,' noting that she's read it and couldn't be happier with how its turned out.

'It's one of the best ones [of the series]... It's amazing,' noting that the sequel 'will happen, I just don't know when.' 

Since her hinting at a fifth film, nothing has been formally announced.

The first American Pie film in the franchise premiered in 1999, becoming a breakout project for its stars.

Jason Biggs, Tara, Alyson Hannigan, Chris Klein, Shannon Elizabeth, Eugene Levy , Jennifer Coolidge and Seann Willian Scott starred in the debut film. 

It became a massive hit, grossing over $235 million at the box office, spawning three follow up films.

The second film American Pie 2 was released in 2001, with American Wedding in 2003 and American Reunion in 2012.

There was also a spin off series that were five direct to video films called American Pie Presents, released from 2005 until 2020. 

Tara starred in America Pie, American Pie 2 and American Reunion; she did not appear in American Wedding.
